Santa Christmas Card

Unlike the majority of the Christmas cards that I made this year I only made one of these. Partially because the Santa was a bit time consuming and because I made this one before deciding that it would be more efficient to make sets of cards. I sent this card along with a gift to my secret Santa, I hope she liked it. To get the white trim on Santa's jacket you will need to cut it in red and again in white. I should have done this again for the pants but I decided to just free cut the pant leg trim.

Needed Supplies:
assorted solid colored paper
Christmas print paper
Wet Looks Embossing Markers
A la Mode clear embossing powder
embossing heat tool
scissors
glue
blue colored pencil
Merry Christmas stamp
Joy of the Season Cartridge
Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge
Cricut Expression
12 by 12 cutting mat
Cricut lifting spatula
Creative Memories corner rounder

This card was cut using the four inch setting using the Joy of the Season cartridge.
Santa is on a rounded corner rectangle cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge set to three inches.
Santa himself is cut using the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge using the two inch setting.
The green oval was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

Halloween Banner

Happy Halloween Banner:

This was so much fun to make and looked so cute hanging across our front window. I will say that it took much longer to make then I first anticipated. But that's OK because I got so many compliments on it, plus I laminated it so I can use it for years to come. One of the great things about being a student teacher is that I have access to a huge resource room that has three laminators and it's a great price. Although it would be awesome to have my own someday.

Needed Supplies:
Cricut
12 by 12 mats
assorted solid colored papers
Halloween print paper packs
scissors
glue
single hole punch
3/8 inch ribbon
cricut spatula
Plantin School Book Cartridge
Mini Monsters Cartridge
Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge
Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge

The black squares were cut using the Plantin School Book Cartridge and they are 4 by 4 inches.
The characters are cut from the remaining cartridges and they were cut at the 2 inch setting.
The letters were cut using Plantin School Book Cartridge also using the 2 inch setting with the letters set to roly poly.

Welcome

Welcome to Diary of a Sunday Crafter. The purpose of this blog is share the projects that I create in my free time. I'm a full time student studying to become an elementary school teacher. I named my blog Diary of a Sunday Crafter because that is how I spend my Sunday afternoons while my husband does graduate homework. My first several post will be items that I made using my Cricut Expression that I received for my 27th birthday. I am also in the process of learning how to knit, so far it's a slow process. Someday I want to learn how to sew so that I can make quilts, but that's still a long way off. I also love to bake and you can check out my cooking blog here: http://kimsnewkitchen.blogspot.com/ but I will warn you that it needs to be updated.
